Elliott’s Seattle weed dispensary visit upsets Jerry Jones Jersey

The Thursday Night Football paradox rears its head again in Week 6, for the second straight week.

There are not a ton of compelling matchups this week — and that’s not good considering it’s just the second weekend of October — but the Eagles visiting the Panthers is one of them. Problem is, of course, it’s Thursday. At least one player is (again) facing a short turnaround off a serious injury, and the possibility of an understandably subpar performance by both teams is strong. Last week, the Patriots-Bucs game was decided by the failure of a kicker. Not the marquee showing the league preferred.

Yet Thursday is still the best of the primetime meetings this week. The late-afternoon window is worthwhile, particularly Pittsburgh going to unbeaten Kansas City. Thankfully, neither is on a short week.

So odds are Cleveland’s executive VP of football operations/general manager (Brown) and — love this title — chief strategy officer and former baseball moneyball man (DePodesta) will see their lack of foresight running roughshod over their team come Sunday in Houston.

Come April, maybe they will finally get it right and use their high draft pick on one of the promising potential franchise quarterbacks in the class of 2018.

League investigators have reportedly spoken with Elliott about the incident that took place while he was still at Ohio State. A person close to Elliott told USA Today the NFL has an ongoing investigation that has run parallel to the investigation conducted by police in Columbus, Ohio.

Elliott was the fourth overall pick in April’s NFL Draft and his rookie season has gotten off to a blazing start. He leads the NFL with 703 rushing yards as the 5-1 Cowboys prepare to face the Philadelphia Eagles (4-2) on Sunday.
